Polyptych of the Body of Christ: Detail, Caius and Pancras

Both saints were martyred. Pancras was beheaded, and many images of Caius assumed that he was too. The corresponding portraits on the right wing of the polyptych are of Saints Nereus and Achileus, who were both also beheaded for the faith.

The two are named by a label in the chapel but there are no attributes to verify that identification unambiguously, just a papal tiara for Pope Caius and a sword for St. Pancras.
